Our Board of Directors

Becky Doherty

President, Member at Large Representative

Becky is a first-generation farmer with a background in Natural Resources as a spatial modeller and analyst. In 2016, she and her husband started Stonepost Farms, producing pasture-raised meats, naturally grown produce, free-range eggs, and unpasteurized honey through holistic, regenerative practices. Passionate about promoting education in regenerative agriculture, she now focuses full-time on the farm’s direct marketing business and is excited to bring her skills to Organic Alberta while continuing to learn.

Daniel Wall

Vice President, Northern Region Representative

Daniel Wall grew up on a small farm but never planned to be a farmer. Inspired by the book You Can Farm, he pursued studies in regenerative agriculture, permaculture, horticulture, and agronomy. Today, he runs a direct-to-consumer farm business, starting from a market garden and growing with a focus on food security, ecology, and health.

Pierre Fillion

Secretary, Northern Region Representative

Pierre is a third-generation farmer from Donnelly, AB, where his family has farmed since 1916. A cancer diagnosis led him to connect soil health with human health and shift toward organic practices. Today, his farm is part organic, part transitioning, with plans for full conversion. Pierre farms with his wife and two children, potentially fourth-generation farmers.

Dylan Joshua Edmiston

Director, Consumer Representative

With over 20 years in organic produce retail, Dylan has built strong relationships with farmers across Western Canada and beyond. At Community Natural Foods in Calgary, he has championed bringing fresh, organic harvests to market, finding joy in connecting growers with consumers.

Agnes Kulinski

Director, Central Region Representative

Agnes combines a science background (BSc, MSc in Experimental Medicine) with business expertise (MBA) and a passion for organics. From launching a biotech startup to leading poultry genetics programs at the University of Alberta, she has driven innovation in food systems. As owner of Pierogerie Polish Foods Inc., Alberta’s only certified organic pierogi-maker, she sources many ingredients from her own farm.

Andy Wagman

Director, Alberta Rep at the Federal Level

Andy, an ROC-certified farmer near Medicine Hat, has been producing organically since the 1990s. His farm includes irrigation, dryland, grazing, intercropping, cover crops, and on-farm grain separation. He raises cattle year-round using low-intervention methods, maintains pollinator habitats, and uses a weed zapper for invasive plant control.

Alex Villeneuve

Director, Southern Region Representative

A chef-turned-brewer-turned-farmer, Alex founded Ceres Solutions in 2015 to transform brewery waste into a growing medium for mushrooms. Now the largest certified organic specialty mushroom farm in the Canadian prairies, Ceres supplies restaurants and markets across Western Canada. Alex’s work has earned him multiple awards and industry recognition.
