Watch Climate Smart Practices for the Transition to Organic, the latest film in OSC4’s documentary series, Captured on Film: Organic Science in the Making.
Dr. Hiroshi Kubota and his team are comparing reduced tillage, standard tillage and integrated livestock systems as potential management practices during the transition from conventional to organic production. Their goal is to identify best practices in their region based on soil carbon and nitrogen dynamics, greenhouse gas emissions and economic outcomes.
Find out what’s happening in the fields at AAFC Lacombe and in the lab at the University of Alberta.
All films in the series will be available for streaming on the Organic Federation of Canada’s YouTube playlist Captured on Film: Organic Science in the Making.
