About the event
Ready to level-up your seed-saving game? Join us for an afternoon at A’Bunadh Seeds, where Denise O’Reilly has been growing seed for over 20 years! Denise will tour us around her farm and share her tips for saving seed from biennial crops like beets and carrots. We’ll be discussing how to plan for biennial seed crops, determine pollination requirements, store first year roots, and time everything correctly. Our goal is to help you expand the types of seed you can grow.
We might even get to harvest some squash seed, check out the strawberry u-pick, or dip a toe into some beginner plant breeding!
- Supervised kids are welcome!
- Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle
- Please leave your pets at home and do not bring any alcohol to the event
