SUMMARY:Alberta Native Plant Council Annual Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Workshop is happening on May 24th in Red Deer\, Albert
 a! Some of this year’s workshop “Plants through Time” will highlight
  how plants\, habitats\, conservation and people’s knowledge have evolve
 d through time\, from decades to thousands of years. Our Keynote Speaker w
 ill be Jenny L. McCune with the University of Lethbridge (http://jlmccune.
 weebly.com/) speaking on Plants through Time: From the Distant Past to the
  Invisible Present. She will be discussing her experiences studying plant 
 communities\, highlighting the challenges and intrigue involved in underst
 anding the short-term and long-term history of plants\, and discuss these 
 challenges to plant conservation in Canada. Below is the preliminary list 
 of speakers\, a full schedule will be released soon. There will be a banqu
 et dinner after the workshop and a short field trip the morning of May 25 
 to Morris Flewwelling Ranch\, located in the Pine Lake Moraine approximate
 ly 30 minutes drive southeast of Red Deer.\n\nThe 2025 ANPC Workshop Field
 trip will be held the day after the workshop\, on Sunday\, May 25\, betwee
 n 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM.\n\nLocation: Morris Flewwelling Ranch\, in the Pi
 ne Lake Moraine\, about 30 min. southeast of Red Deer.\n\nHosts: Walk wil
 l be hosted by Morris Flewwelling\, Maureen Carey\, and Eileen Ford.\n\nDi
 fficulty: Easy\, walking along horse/animal trails and cutlines\, minimal
  elevation gain\,.\n\nAmenities: Free parking (on property or along grave
 l road along property)\, outdoor outhouse\, and a shelter.\n\nNotes: Wear
  appropriate clothing and good footwear / boots\, bring snacks\, water\, s
