Organic Week Coordinator

Organic Alberta is looking for an outgoing, self-motivated, highly organized person to join our team as a summer student. The Organic Week coordinator will develop a plan and coordinate the roll out of Organic Alberta’s organic week activities. This includes working with our partners, such as the Canada Organic Trade Association, organic retailers and organic farmers. The Organic Week Coordinator will work closely with Organic Alberta’s Executive Director and our Communications Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a plan for Alberta’s Organic Week activities, including consulting with our partners and members
• Work with our partners to coordinate Organic Week programming
• Develop promotional materials and social media content and calendar for the program
• Administrative support such as:
  • General office or clerical duties
  • Answering telephones
• And other related activities as needed

Requirements:

• Canadian citizen or permanent resident, under the age of 30
• Be a full-time student returning to school in September

Qualifications:

• Passion for local food and organic agriculture
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Technologically literate
• Dependable, self-starter who is comfortable working independently
• Ability to manage multiple priorities

Assets:

• Experience working with non-profit, grass-roots organizations
• Experience with data bases, client management software, and excel spreadsheets

Position details:

$14/hour, 37.5 hours a week for 15 weeks. Position to begin early to mid-May.
