A 5 Step DIY process for healthier land, financial freedom, functional resilience and the time to enjoy it all!

Are you overwhelmed & paralyzed by the complexity of designing & managing land in a way that is ecologically regenerative, financially sustainable, functionally resilient, & actually enjoyable?

Through their combined 20 years of consulting, farming, & teaching Rob and Takota have developed a five-step process that resolves this paralysis and empowers land stewards to design and manage the property of their dreams. This 40-hour course is based on their five-step process which is taught through dozens of hands-on exercises that will allow you to;

  1. Clarify your values, vision and resources
  2. Diagnose your property’s strengths & weaknesses
  3. Complete your own permaculture property design with professional tools &, templates
  4. Implement your design with the appropriate information, tools, community, and support
  5. Manage and monitor your property holistically

All land stewards hold a vast collection of personal and inherited experience and wisdom unique to them and their land base. This workshop acknowledges that fact and provides you with a process and the tools that will help you to find your own solutions helping you to stop the grind & start growing the farm, ranch, or homestead of your dreams with the guidance of an engineer and a 4th generation farmer in your corner.

About the Facilitators

Rob Avis

After pursuing international training and certifications in renewable energy and regenerative design I, along with my wife and business partner Michelle, began Verge Permaculture, now a globally-recognized and award-winning design, consulting, and education company. Since then, we’ve helped more than 1000 students and a growing number of clients to design and/or create integrated systems for shelter, energy, water, waste and food, all while supporting local economy and regenerating the land. Our consulting firm, Adaptive Habitat is a property design & project management firm that creates resilient homes, acreages and farms for landowners, preserving tangible and enduring wealth by integrating innovative technology, engineered solutions and ecological design.

Takota Coen

Takota is a 4th generation farmer who was born, raised, and continues to help steward Coen Farm, an award-winning, and thriving 250 acre diversified organic farm in Central Alberta. In addition to farming, Takota works with landowners across Canada to provide them with tools and resources to stop the grind and start growing the farm, ranch, or homestead of their dreams. He holds two Permaculture Design Certificates from The Permaculture Research Institute, two Holistic Management Certificates from Holistic Management International, and a Red Seal Journeyman Certificate for Carpentry.
